Songs at Bryn Mawr!
November 30th, 2008
We received a lot of correct responses to November’s Treasure. We will select one lucky participant to receive a special gift. The item pictured is the Bryn Mawr College song book Edited by Helen Lord Smith and Elinor Milnor Parker. It was published by the Undergraduates of Bryn Mawr College for the benefit of Goodhart Hall in 1929.
You can see several copies of the song book in Special Collections.
A New Treasure!
November 3rd, 2008
Good guessing on last month’s treasure! We’ve got a nice gift going out to Sophia. The image of Vesuvius is from William Hamilton’s Campi Phlegraei, 1776. Read more about this spectacular collection of plates of the volcano and the surrounding countryside in the latest Mirabile Dictu (newsletter of the Friends of the Library - available in the Rare Book Room or by post - just ask!).
This month’s Treasure comes from a little closer to home:
We obliterated one part of the image, but you may already be familiar with this book. If you think you know the above object, email us your answer along with your full name and mailing address to treasures [at] brynmawr [dot] edu. We will select one correct entry and send that person a special gift.
